Biographies

Timothy U. Ketterson, Ph.D.
Licensed Psychologist - Florida (PY 7453)


Dr. Ketterson earned his Bachelor’s Degree from University of Georgia (1988), his Masters from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville (1991), and his Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the APA accredited training program at the University at Albany, State University of New York (2000).  He completed an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship at the North Florida / South Georgia Veterans Healthcare System (Gainesville VAMC) with an emphasis in Geriatric Rehabilitation and Health Psychology.  He completed a Post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Florida (UF) in Clinical & Health Psychology (concentration: Health Promotion) sponsored by the National Institutes of Health / National Heart Lung & Blood Institute (1999-2001).  He was Research Assistant Professor (2001-2005) in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology where his professional activities were focused on issues of adult aging and health including informal / family caregiving, stroke rehabilitation outcomes, and telehealth / e-health.  Dr. Ketterson has maintained a professional affiliation with UF since 1999. Currently, he is Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor in the University Counseling Center.  Dr. Ketterson joined the Haile Psychiatry & Psychotherapy Group in 2005.

Forms of payment accepted: Cash, personal check, Bank-issued ATM card, Credit Cards (VISA / Master Card only), and a number of private insurance plans including  Aetna (including the University of Florida student policy), United Behavioral Health (UBH), CIGNA Behavioral Health, and TriCare Standard & Prime (military personnel & dependents).  Dr. Ketterson is a Medicare provider and accepts Blue Cross / Blue Shield - BCBS of Florida (currently as an out-of-network provider).  Our office staff will assist patients in submitting insurance claims, if requested.

Clinical Services

Consultation is available to adolescents (ages 14+) and adults at the individual, couple, family, and small group (TBA) level for the following areas of concern:

Issues of Adolescence and Young Adulthood

Health Behavior Change & Health Promotion (e.g., bariatric and other pre-surgical evaluations, smoking cessation),

Coping with Mental Health Difficulties associated with Medical Conditions (acute or chronic),

Issues related to Reproductive Health, Fertility and Adoption,

Issues of Disability (counseling and assessment),

Adult Aging & Elder Care Issues (e.g., informal / family caregiving),

Mood and Anxiety Disorders (e.g., depression, post-traumatic stress disorder), &

Career & Work-related Issues (e.g., career development, transition, work dysfunction, referrals from Employee Assistance Programs). 

Please note:
Dr. Ketterson currently does not accept cases in which the primary presenting problem pertains to either substance abuse or issues of chronic pain.  Referrals are offered to individuals presenting with these issues.
