Susan Tran, M.D.

Dr. Tran is a board certified psychiatrist specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Adult Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry. She received her M.D. from Louisiana State University Health Science Center and completed an internship at Allegheny General Hospital and a residency in Adult Psychiatry at the University Of Florida College Of Medicine.  In addition, Dr. Tran completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University Of Florida College Of Medicine and a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at Yale University College of Medicine. 

 

Dr. Tran has served as the Medical Director of the Children’s Crisis Stabilization Units at Meridian Behavioral Healthcare and The Centers and worked as the Medical Director of the Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit at Meridian Behavioral Healthcare.

 

Dr. Tran is a diplomate of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Psychiatric Association, and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.  

 

Dr. Tran treats children, adolescent and adults, who suffer from anxiety disorders, ADHD, depression, and other types of mood disorders.  She has a special interest in couples therapy, family therapy and forensic evaluations.

 

Dr. Tran is also available for forensic evaluations for the court, corporations and insurance companies. 

 

Starting September 13, 2010 Dr. Tran will have an expanded schedule and will be seeing patients by appointment between the hours of 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM. She is a Tricare Provider and an out-of-network provider for Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO.  Dr. Tran does not accept Medicare or Medicaid patients.  All missed appointments will be charged the full fee unless cancelled with at least 48 hours notice.

 

Dr. Tran is available for emergency after hours consultations only.  She does not have admitting privileges and therefore cannot directly admit patients to the hospital nor see patients in the hospital.  Dr. Tran is part of a group of psychiatrists in Gainesville who share on-call. When Dr. Tran is not on call, another psychiatrist will be available.
